ACORN INN / EVERSHOT

A Highwayman is said to haunt this location.

 

ANGEL INN / LYME REGIS

A former landlady took the news that her daughter was a alcoholic very badly, this particular landlady has been reported several times standing over people's beds.

 

ATHELHAMPTON HOUSE / Puddletown

This grand house was built in the fifteenth century, The Martyn family lived there for 300 hundred years, several ghosts have been seen here, the grey lady that glides through the walls of the tudor room, two mysterious ghosts re- enact a dual in the great chambers thought to date back to the cival war. The most interesting of them all is a spirit of an ape which belonged to one of the martyns daughters, it is said the ape followed the daughter into a secret room, she killed herself and the ape died of starvation. Witnesses have said they have seen the ape by the secret stairway and have heard chilling sounds as if the ape is clawing at the door to escape.

 

Badbury Rings / Nr Blandford 

 This concetric ring hillfort dates from the iron age and has many stories to tell, witnesses have said there is a disfigured dwarf like figure that lurks around the car park at the entrance of the rings. There is also reports of a large black hound creature that dashes out in front of cars. The most disturbing sighting is that of a scar faced warrior on horse back that chases and torments people, last reported in 1999.

 

BARLEY MOW / WIMBORNE

No one is to sure what it is that haunts the Barley Mow, a misty dark shape has been reported, it hovers about the bar area.

 

BOOT INN / NORTH ALLINGTON

A former landlady haunts the first floor of this pub, but only makes herself known to those who are ill. In the bar area there are two more spirits, One is a soldier dressed in fatigues, and the other is a Victorian gent who died after having most of his head blown off with a shotgun.

 

BOOT INN / Weymouth

The Boot Inn is situated in High West street, Weymouth, and dates back to the seventeenth century, its believed to be haunted by an old seaman. The residents have been woken by heavy footsteps and furniture being rearranged ,the seaman has also been seen in the cellar, the landlord at the time felt a eerie chill in the air.

 

Bottlebush  Down / Handley Cross

A horseman dressed in bronze age attire, has been seen on Bottlebush down several times, many respected witnesses have seen this spirit including a archaeologist. The area where this horseman is seen is scattered with iron age remains.

 

Bovington Camp Tank Museum / Bovington

Amongst the halls housing a great selection of military vehicles dating from WW1 through to the Gulf war, There are two vehicles of much interest ,both are housed in the WW2 hall. The first is that of a  German Tiger Tank that arrived at the museum in the 1950s, Witnesses say they have seen a  German officer by the tank and also inside and outside the buildings. The second vehicle is that of a Hanomag Half Infantry Carrier, many people have felt a very uncomfortable presence around it.

 

BULL HOTEL / BRIDPORT

The faint sounds of a young child are often heard in the ladies toilet by members of the public and the staff. No child is ever found.

 

Clouds Hill / Wool

This house was once owned by T.E.Lawrence better known as Lawrence of Arabia, he first rented the cottage in 1923 and finally bought it in 1925 as a home for his retirement. Ten years later he left the air force, but in only five days he had died in an awful motorbike accident. It is said that since the accident a man dressed in arab robes has been seen wandering around clouds hill, it is thought to be T.E.Lawrence ,It is also said that the roar of his Brough superior motorbike has been heard, especially near the spot of the fatal accident.

 

Corfe castle, Wareham

King Edward and King John both had links with this magnificent ruin, King Edward was murdered in the grounds, King John had 22 Frenchman locked in the dungeons and left to starve to death, But the most documented haunting of them all was that of a headless woman who is said to walk the hills around the gateway of the castle. Witnesses say that when the figures appears ,there is a sharp chill in the air.

A ghost of a American serviceman causes all sorts of mayhem, there are reports of a really active candle that sits near a church style fresco.
